The town of Seneca Falls is historically known for The Seneca Falls Convention for Women’s Rights of 1848. The village is the location of the  National Women’s Hall of Fame and the Women’s  Rights National Historical Park. The town measures 24 square miles. Today’s estimated population is 8,680. Seneca Falls is located in the north end of the Finger Lakes region. It was known as the industrial center in the mid1800s - the canal supported  shipping of  goods and transportation  across New York. The Cayuga-Seneca Canal was connected to the Erie Canal by 1828 helping the industry flourish.

Besides visiting the Women's Rights National Historic Park, the Montezuma National Wildlife Refuge is a large piece of protected land where guests may drive through to see all kinds of birds in addition to other wildlife. This refuge was established in 1938 and since has grown to provide resting, feeding, and nesting habitat for waterfall and other migratory birds. Montezuma is located in the middle of the most active flight lanes in the Atlantic Flyaway. The refuge contains 9,809 acres and is situated in Seneca, Wayne, and Cayuga Counties. This refuge offers a Welcome Center along with a driving and walking pathways to bird watch! The Cayuga Wine Trail is a great summer and fall activity to participate in. Just like the towns around Seneca Falls, the land is farmed to harvest grapes, corn, beans, chickens, cows, and pigs to fill their local grocery stores. If you are familiar with the movie, “It’s A Wonderful Life” you will certainly want to take a day trip to Seneca Falls to visit the bridge in which a scene was filmed. Each year, there are multiple festivals that take place in this town. A few are, Empire Farm Days - the largest outdoor agricultural show in the northeast, drawing nearly 70,000 people. Everything farming is on display, from the latest innovations to the newest technologies.
